Strata One is the first of two luxury villas to be developed at the Parkway area of Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai's latest 11 million square meters mega-project. Brought by Emaar Properties and Meraas Holding, the master-planned community is designed to the highest standards of sustainability, featuring elegant neighborhoods interwoven with landscaped parks, winding walkways and an 18-hole championship golf course.

 

CONCEPT /

In line with the 'green' concept behind the master-planning of the community, the villa emerges from the earth, with all its natural elements. As a cut into the stratum of the ground, the horizontal elements of the villa, whether slabs, flower beds, or sun-breakers, follow a defined vertical grid and yet evoke a sense of playful randomness. Greenery is left to grow upwards along the grid as it helps regulate the climate inside the house. The vertical elements are clad in travertine to further stress on the notion of roughness.
