CHALLENGE /

The challenge throughout this project revolved around designing three townhouses that would be shared by members of the same family.

CONCEPT /

The design adopts a U-shaped courtyard plan in which the three townhouses overlook a central garden and swimming pool outdoor space. Privacy is achieved through the use of bulky vertical solid elements which negative spaces in between allow for openings of varying sizes. Those openings become smaller on the street elevations of the building, thus providing more privacy and intimacy for the spaces behind them. The also contrast with the horizontal aspect of the site giving the project, along with the wooden louvers, its unique aspect.
